# Electroplating & metal finishing services

Corrosion protection, conductivity and a better look. CaMyer delivers production-grade finishes for fasteners, stampings, machined parts and assemblies.

Not sure which finish fits your part? Call us. We're happy to talk through your finishing requirements and recommend the right process for your application, budget and spec.

 Corrosion protection

## Zinc Plating

Zinc is the workhorse of industrial finishing. It acts as a sacrificial layer, corroding before the steel underneath does, so your parts last longer in the field. We offer zinc in both **hexavalent** and **trivalent** chromate chemistries, letting you meet your spec, whether that's a classic finish or a RoHS-friendly alternative.

### Typical applications

- Fasteners, bolts, nuts and washers
- Brackets, stampings and sheet-metal parts
- Automotive, agricultural and equipment components

### Options

- Blue bright zinc
- Clear trivalent
- Yellow zinc
- Hexavalent
- Trivalent

 Conductivity & solderability

## Tin Plating

Tin gives parts a clean, satin-white surface that is easy to solder, resists corrosion and keeps electrical contact resistance low. It is a go-to finish for electrical and electronic components.

### Typical applications

- Electrical connectors and terminals
- Bus bars and grounding hardware
- Components that need to be soldered

### Options

- Matte tin
- Solderable finish

 Appearance & mild protection

## Black Oxide

Black oxide is a conversion coating that turns the surface of steel a deep, even black. Because it adds virtually no thickness, it's ideal for precision parts with tight tolerances. Paired with an oil sealant, it adds mild corrosion resistance and cuts glare.

### Typical applications

- Tools and machined components
- Gears, shafts and precision fittings
- Parts where a non-reflective finish matters

### Options

- Oil sealed
- Dimensionally neutral

 Clean, protected surfaces

## Passivation & Cleaning

Passivation chemically cleans metal parts and removes free iron and shop contamination left over from machining, which strengthens the metal's natural protective layer. The result is a cleaner part with better resistance to rust and staining.

### Typical applications

- Machined parts and assemblies
- Parts prepared for downstream finishing
- Components that must ship clean

### Options

- Chemical cleaning
- Passivation

 Controlled thermal processing

## Heat Treatment

Plating can introduce hydrogen into hardened steel. Controlled baking after plating relieves that hydrogen and helps prevent embrittlement failures. We also provide heat treatment to support your part requirements. Call us to discuss your spec.

### Typical applications

- Hardened fasteners and springs
- High-strength steel components
- Parts with post-plate bake requirements

### Options

- Post-plate baking
- Heat treatment

 Quality you can document

## Thickness Testing & Documentation

We measure plating thickness to verify it meets your print, and we provide documentation for your records and your customers. If your job calls for certification, include the requirements with your prints and we'll take care of it.

### Typical applications

- Jobs that call for certification
- First-article and production verification
- Supplier quality requirements

### Options

- Thickness measurement
- Written documentation

## Ready to finish your next run?

Send us your prints with certification requirements, or drop off a sample part, and we’ll get back to you with a free estimate.
